Default Ritualist/Ranger Splinter Cannon

Ritualist/Ranger Splinter Cannon

Skills:
Barrage
Nightmare Weapon
Distracting shot
Spinter Weapon
Spirit Siphon
Charm Animal
Comfort Animal
Flesh Of My Flesh

Attr:
Channeling: 12+3
Marksmanship: 11
Beast Mastery: the rest

Weapons:
+5 energy longbow
+5 energy vamp. longbow

Armor:
All armor pieces have radiant insignias

Usage:
This. Rit. build is made as an addition of barrage/pet teams to speed up the killing in areas where mobs are packed really tight like Urgoz' Warren and Tomb of the Primeval Kings. Theres always some dead point in those missions where people put traps/spirits down. Use that time to put splinter weapon on every ranger and on yourself. If the mob starts coming your way barrage them to death with a fully charged splinter weapon volley. Re-apply Splinter Weapon if needed until the mob is dead.
Use nightmare weapon against single targets like those big wurms in tombs or the Barks in Urgoz warren. Spirit Siphon can be used when energy is low as there are enough spirits around to transfer energy from. Don't use siphon twice on the same spirit, the spirits energy needs to recharge first or you will only lose energy.

Pros:
Compared to the standard R/Rt splinter weapon template this one does considerably more damage. 1 rit can keep splinter weapon up on most of the barragers non stop. Amplified by barrage the damage output of this guy is quite scary.

Cons:
-Ranger primaries have better armor then the squishy rit. so watch positioning.
-The exhaustion room in Urgoz can be problematic when using too much spells.
-The build is energy-hungry so use skills with care.
-If the pet dies it costs the full 10 energy to wake it up, no expertise bonus.

Credits:
I stole the build from some guy I played with in Tombs and tweaked to it suit my personal taste a bit.
Quite a few people in tombs teams I played in were quite interested in the build, so I decided t post it here.

I tried a similair build for my own Rit. need to get her to Tombs though hadn't had the chance to get her through prophecies yet.

The spirit siphon is a good idea for energy. That's a skill i'll definitly add to my skillbar.

I posted a build for splinter earlier this year. I added the following skill to help with bosses / solo targets just because splinter is useless when attacking one target.

Wielder's Strike- Target foe is struck for 15...51 lightning damage. If you are under the effects of a weapon Spell, you deal an additional 15...51 lightning damage.
(At 16 in channelling you can do 63 X 2 very nasty)

Edit-

I also used the Favorable Winds spirit and Essence Strike to help with energy management.
I used a zealous bow only because the mass chaos that splinter does what’s 5 extra damage

ive been using a similar build for my ranger. but, now that you mention it, a rit primary might be more effective. they have more energy and stuff too.
